The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) on June 18, 2026, notified the dates of withdrawal of the Indian Standards related to Insulator Fittings for Overhead Power Lines.
In the following Indian Standards particulars, the Dates of withdrawal shall be June 10, 2026 -
• IS 2486 (Part III) – 1974 Specification for Insulator Fittings for Overhead Power Lines With a Nominal Voltage Greater Than 1 000 Volts Part III Locking Devices.
• IS 2486 (Part IV) – 1981 Specification for Insulator Fittings for Overhead Power Lines With a Nominal Voltage Greater Than 1 000 V Part IV Tests for Locking Devices.
• IS 8269 : 1976 Methods for Switching Impulse Tests On High Voltage Insulators.
• IS 8765 – 1978 Specification for Ceramic Insulating Materials for Electrical Purposes.
• IS 14571 : 1998 IEC 1028 (1991) Electrical Measuring Instruments — X-Y Recorders.
